Saint Paul de Vence

Hi there,

Just wondering if anybody has visited this place before?

Just wondered we get there without hiring a car? We%26#39;re probably going to be staying in Cannes. Is it possible to reach it by train or bus?

Any help/advice etc... would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mark,

It%26#39;s certainly worth a visit, especially if you can go slightly out of season, as it gets very busy.

Stop and have a beer at the cafe de la place on the way in or out.

I believe that you can get there by bus - see:

Thank you David.

Definitely worth a visit.

from Cannes take the bus 200 to Nice either all the way to the Gare Routiere in Nice or nearest point, the airport Terminal 1 to pick up the bus 400 for St Paul de Vence.

There%26#39;s no train. If you decide to hire a car, it is very easy and straight forward to drive there, but I wouldn%26#39;t bother as the roads get very busy from June to September and you have all the problems and stresses of driving, parking plus no more 2-bottle lunches. The TAM coaches or buses are regular, on time, clean, air-conditioned and very cheap. The link for timetables and stops etc is here:

If you are going to go to St Paul for the day, try and include a vist to the Fondation Maeght modern art museum and try and book lunch at La Colombe d%26#39;Or - you won%26#39;t regret it.

You will find more info about a trip to St Paul in a previous posting on tripadvisor:

I%26#39;ll second the motion about Colombe d%26#39;Or....fabulous restaurant! Original artwork by the Impressionist masters on the walls too.

Sounds good. I%26#39;d take a table at Next too if I was there right now =)
