8th Arr.???

How is the 8th Arr. to stay in? We are planning a New Years trip withn our 17 year old daughter and the two top hotels being offered with this package are Franklin Rosevelt Hotel and Francois Premier (1er), both in this district. Any input on area or hotels GREATLY appreciated. thanks, Lynn

The 8th arr. is one of the most chic and upscale in Paris; there are all the fashion boutiques and a large variety of the top hotels and restaurants, the shops at Champs - Elysees are open till 1am and some of the most important museums and theaters are located there. As for the 2 hotels offered , the Francois 1er is the best, newly renovated, with spacious and nicely decorated rooms and just 2 blocks from the C-E. Some websites for the hotel: www.the-paris-hotel and www.summithotels.com

Paris is beutiful during Christmas and New Year.Have a nice trip!!

My husband and I just returned from 8 days in Paris and stayed at the Franklin Roosevelt. We could not have been happier. Loved the area, close to the Seine, the Champs Elysees, and the metro. Very upscale neighborhood with some good restaurants just across the street. Very beautiful small hotel with nice bathroom. We stayed in a deluxe room which was on the 5th floor and had a nice balcony. I highly recommend this area and this hotel. You won%26#39;t be disappointed.

Very chic and safe area, but still shops around Rue la Boetie, St Augustin church...and of course the Champs Elyses. But it won%26#39;t be the cheapest area of Paris.
