Will be arriving in Paris Aug. 2 with my dd ages 8 %26amp; 11. First trip to Europe for them. Need to book four nights before going on to Switzerland. Advice on where to stay? Close in, farther out? Don%26#39;t want to spend a fortune.
Have been cruising the big travel websites, but its getting overwhelming.
Thanks

This is where we put up our friends when they come with their families to visit: www.hotellindbergh.com
With 8 %26amp; 11 yr olds you can get two rooms, but they also have quads. There are a selection of great restaurants near enough by that you can even leave them in the room while you go out to dine. ANd you%26#39;re near six great playgrounds... one being the Luxembourg gardens and the other the gardens at the Rodin museum.

Just checked it. It looked nice...but too expensive. Other ideas?

Take a look at the Hotel Pratic in the Marais. It%26#39;s a nice 2-star, recenty renovated, in a charming traffic-free square, very kid-friendly location, close to the Place des Vosges. Good cafes and restaurants in the square and plenty more within a three block radius.

Others in the same general area which you might be happy with are the Grand Hotel Jeanne d%26#39;Arc on the rue Jarente and the Hotel Castex on the rue Castex.
Check this site and others for reviews etc.
Do try to stay close to the center. Ideally I think in the 4th or 6th arrondissements, but good places could be found in any of the central (1st through 8th) arrondissements.
Good luck!

You couldn%26#39;t be more welcome!
Did you check already if they have rooms available for your dates? If they do get back to us and I%26#39;m sure we will deluge you with info about restaurants, museums, and a ton of other stuff.
Meanwhile there have been several threads recently about visiting Paris with kids, so a forum search should provide a lot of info.
If your kids are the least bit science oriented I think they would love the Cite des Sciences et de l%26#39;Industrie, but that is just a starter...
