Some web sites cover this extensively, giving a full page to each stop. I didn%26#39;t stop, but most got off at Entrevaux (I think, get these names mixed up) which was a medieval looking town with walkway up a steep hill to a fortress looking thing. Looked so sunblasted and hot, I think I would use the departure earlier than 9 if hitting if this on the Nice outbound leg. Puget-T was maybe the next most interesting looking town to me just by being pleasant looking.

I did it on a weekday daytrip some weeks ago. Train was crowded and hot. There is some issue with the side best for sightseeing being the sunblasted side, but I forget. Just ask at counter for a ticket outbound today and return tomorrow. Digne was a pleasant surprise, but many gave up on it walking there and returned to the out-of-town station since it looks unpromising as you approach it.

We did this as a Day Trip last year. It%26#39;s a fantastic ride but we found most of the stops a bit of a let down. They were just o.k. Entrevaux is wonderful though. Next time we would stay there. The actual train ride is the best bit. The train leaves from a small Station on Rue Alfred Binet NOT Nice - Ville SNCF station. If they don%26#39;t do 2 day returns, just get a single each day. Return train tickets in France tend to be simply double the single price - generally no saving.
