hot and humid in the city

My children are VERY fair-skinned and sensitive to the sun. In late July, is the UV index very high in Paris?

Is the summer in Paris humid as in Florida? Are most public places air-conditioned?

Lastly, do ladies wear hats in the summer?

Thanks

Paris in the summer is hot, but i don%26#39;t think it can get as hot as Florida anyway. It is not humid. You can wear hats of course but it depends on what you prefer. Most places are not air-conditionned but don%26#39;t worry, we parisians bear the summer so you should be allright...

Paris is farther north than Boston - about on the same latitude as Halifax, NS. Logically, therefore, the sun is less intense than you will be used to. In addition it is probably more cloudy than Boston in July and the weather is more changeable.

It is nothing like as humid as the southern US even when it does get hot...

As such, if your children have no problems in Boston, they should be fine in Paris, but wearing sunblock on sunny days is still not a bad idea.

(The worst sunburn I ever got was in the north west of Ireland - purely due to my own stupidity, I confess...)

I don%26#39;t know if ladies wear hats in Paris, but I wear one here almost every day... especially the brilliantly sunny ones like today.

If you are too hot go into a museam, they are kept at a constant temp.( to maintain the artwork) and humidy.
