I will be arriving in Paris on the eurail on a Friday from Bruges, Belgium. Does anyone know what time the trains arrive? Will I arrive at Gare du Nord? what is the best way to get to Rue de Suffren in the 15eme?

Also any advice on not to be missed cafes or cheaps eats?

Thanks in advance,

To know what time the train arrives, one would have to know what time it leaves, or am I missing something here?

Avenue de Suffren is pretty long. One would have to know the street number to know the nearest metro stop.

My advice, take a taxi to start with, as in any case, it%26#39;s not a direct ride from Gare du Nord. It won%26#39;t cost you a fortune, maybe some 15E.

Their are several THALYS trains from from Brugges, through Brusselles (one almst every hour during the day) and all will arrive at PARIS-Gare du Nord. Since you%26#39;re the one with the reservation, you should check your ticket or E-Confirmation.

There are several ways to get from Gare du Nord to Ave de Sufferen (go back and reconfirm your exact address--I%26#39;mpretty sure that there%26#39;s no %26#39;..RUE de Suffren..%26#39; in Paris) all of them good. Which one suits your personal preference, priorities, special needs and budget best is up to you. There is the most direct--simply step out of the doors of Gare du Nord, walk up to the regular taxi rank there, wait your turn and take a cab. There%26#39;s the #42 public bus, which begins its route from right out front of Gare du Nord, with a stop at the corner of Avenue Joseph Bouvard and Avenue e Suffren (that%26#39;s approx. 1 1/2 blocks to the Paris Hilton Hotel and 5-6 blocks from the HotelBailli de Suffren). The Metro routing is the least convenient and will probably take the most time and distance to walk. There are no direct Matro connections to Ave de Suffren and long Correspondences (walks for train changes) en oute. First a long corresppondence from Gare du Nord to the #4 Metro ligne (in the direction of Porte d%26#39;Orleans) to MONTPARNASSE-BIENNENUE, then another long Correspondence to the # 6 Metro ligne (in the direction od Etoile) to DUPLEIX or BIR HAKIM---then another walk of several blocks to Ave. de Suffren.

If budget is a concern, the bus is a great option and a really pleasant ride through Paris and past several major monuments/attractions. If speed and convenience is the major priority and budget is no problem than taxi. Skip the Metro for this transfer. Too long, too complicated and too much walking.
