We have booked villas in Tuscany and Provence with a travel agent using Interhome. Now, a week before our departure,we have been told we need to provide 300 cash euro security deposits to the owners upon our arrival and that electricity is not included in our (already paid in full ) price of the stay.
Has anyone had experience with Interhome? Are the property owners fair and ethical about the return of this large cash deposit and about electricity charges?

We have rented in Switzerland through Interhome more than 20 times and have always been very happy with the experience. My only quibble is that, in Switzerland at any rate, they tend to handle properties that are a little away from the centre of things and the final cleaning charge is on the high side. Deposits have always been returned at the end of the stay.
