I will be at Gatwick at 8:00 on an American flight from Dallas. I am hoping to catch a 10:40 easy jet to Belfast and wondering if that is enough time.
Also I%26#39;m concerned that if you don%26#39;t make the 10:10 gate close cut off what happens. Do they put you on the next flight or do you have to buy a new ticket? I%26#39;ve thought about just booking on the next flight but that%26#39;s 5 hours later.
Any comments or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you don%26#39;t make it to the check in desk by 1/2 hour before departure, you%26#39;re out of luck. You have to buy another ticket. (This is probably how they make their money and are able to offer inexpensive flights). Its happened to my friend (not w/ EasyJet, but with a similar airline)
And as a sidenote, I used EasyJet and had no problems at all....I was happy w/ my experience. (be careful with heavy luggage, they charge extra if you go over their limit.. another way they make their money)

holly when you used eayjet what was the size of your suitcase
we are brining one that is the next size up from the one you can take as a carryone in us (crew size) the weight is not a problem just want to make sure it is not to big for checked
web-site a little hard to unerstand and that whole conversion thing has me dizzy (blonde moment)

I had a rolling backpack that was the size of 21x14x7 (though it was stuffed fatter than 7 inches). It was my carry-on for the international flight over to Europe, but it was too big to be a carry-on for them (they%26#39;re more strict, obviously). So I had to check it in and I was afraid it would be over the limit. But I was fine. I think my luggage was around 12kg.
So if your luggage is just the next size up (would that be a 24%26quot;?), you%26#39;ll probably be fine. But I%26#39;d do a %26quot;practice pack%26quot; and weigh your luggage on your scale at home, to be sure. I believe their limit for checked in luggage is 20kg, which is 44 lbs.

Auntie B - use your favorite search engine and do a search on %26quot;kilometers to inches%26quot; and another on Kilograms to pounds. These easy-to-use conversion sites will help you decide if your luggage is the right size.

I%26#39;m flying Air New Zealand. A bit nervous about it. Never flown it before, don%26#39;t know anyone who has. And there%26#39;s already been a hassle with the airline regarding seat assignment (they won%26#39;t assign me a seat until I check in, but a co-worker who%26#39;s flying back on the same flight was given a seat?) I%26#39;ve read reviews from a couple years ago that said their airplanes needed seriously updated %26amp; their inflight entertainment was seriously lacking. Not sure if that is still the case. BUT.. the good news, apparently they have the widest pitch between their seats! ;-)
What about you? And are you also doing the trip solo? I can%26#39;t remember?
|||
wait.. i obviously assumed you meant what airline i was flying with.. is that what you meant? lol...

I%26#39;m not sure why you asked your Gatwick question here rather than in the London forum, but no matter.
You *should* be all right making your connection unless your flight from Dallas is horribly late.
Your flight arrives at the North terminal and your Belfast flight will leave from the South terminal. It should not take you longer than 45-50 minutes on a fairly bad day to deal with the arrival formalities. After you have cleared immigration, collected your baggage and cleared customs it should not take you more than 10 minutes to transfer between terminals. Follow the signs for South terminal to the transfer train. Trains run about every three minutes and the trip takes about two minutes. When you leave the train turn to your left for the Departure area.
So - if everything is working properly, and your flight arrives on time, you should have about an hour to spare.
Say hello to Belfast for me. I grew up there...
Good luck!
