Pierre & Vacances City Residence Buttes Chaumont

Anybody stayed in here ???? Feedbacks plz.

|||

We%26#39;ve stayed in the MontMartre Pierre %26amp; Vacances apartments many times in the 90s. They%26#39;re the cheapest apart-hotels in the city. It%26#39;s a chain of ski lodges-for-the-masses in the alps that has been buying buildings in the cities and expanding.

--Simple, no frills

--Basically decent cleanliness sprinkled with plenty of housekeeping staff shortcuts

--Affordable en-suite breakfasts - quite good actually

--Kitchens with yard-sale pots and pans but clean and functional - no microwave

--French TV only

--No double beds. All singles.

--Great desk staff.

We always got a chuckle when we returned to the Montmartre P%26amp;V. We always asked for the beds to be made up as a double and the staff would then scramble to find the right sheets, etc. After a while, we%26#39;d show up after a few months away and the desk clerk would say Ahh... Mr/Mrs Fr..., would you prefer the bed made %26quot;a la Italiene?%26quot;. Still don%26#39;t know what that means... Don%26#39;t married French skiiers sleep together?

The last stay we had was in 1999.

so what do you think Pierre %26amp; Vacances Or Citadines.

What about Pierre %26amp; Vacances in Disney.

|||

Citadines in Paris has lots of hotels in different areas. The Tour Eiffel one is nice and across the street from a metro station. The St-Germain is nicely located. You have a choice.

|||

We are big fans of Citadines and have stayed in them in Barcalona, Paris-Bastille, Paris-Place d%26#39;Italie, Paris-Trocadero, Paris-Montmartre, Montpellier, London-Barbican and London-S. Kensington.

The P%26amp;V in Montmartre isn%26#39;t really in the same class. It%26#39;s like the difference between a 2-star hotel near Metro Anvers and a European Best Western hotel in the 7th.

P%26amp;V is fine but very ragged around the edges. Citadines is a real hotel that happens to have kitchens and ironing boards and of course, you pay a lot more for that.

Don%26#39;t get me wrong, we think the P%26amp;V is fine because we really demand only three things from a hotel when we%26#39;re visiting a new place, a clean room, a clean en-suite bathroom and some quiet at night. The kitchen allows us to shop the local markets and cook but otherwise, sleep and a shower is all we need.

Never been to Disney Paris so I don%26#39;t know what they offer there. Maybe the P%26amp;V chain is more polished elsewhere.

Hello,

I am looking for an partment which is clean and in safe place too. I thought of staying in a hotel in paris, but then i thought this is not my first time, this may be my fourth or fiveth visit. I wanna do something else and i wontn be staying in the hotel unless for sleep :)

I wanna take my chid to disney, while searching i have found P%26amp;V apartments, with a good deal..but i needed someone%26#39;s advice on the place. The City Residence doest look that bad in pictures but yet never know...

Citadines have many apartments in paris but there is no availibilty on the days i have requested. I might be bit late.

Thanks lot for your feedback ...and more are welcomed :)
