In conjunction with following question - should we make reservations in Strausbourg for a one night visit in Junel or do you think we could find something upon arrival? Thanks!

June is not yet the summer vacation period...but you never know.
Specially if the night is within a week-end, lots of German tourists might be visiting too.
I would advise to book something. We are end-may, you may have a look at some %26quot;laterooms%26quot; websites, maybe you can even have a bargain.
Should you arrive with no reservation, I am 100% sure the tourist office will find you something...but maybe not in the nicest spots and prices.
Try to stay in the center (Cathedrale or Petite France), it is car-free, and safe at night!

We just got back from Strasbourg and there were lots of tourists,mostly German. You might want to email the tourist office there to be sure they can find you something for one night,but from my experiences in Europe it is best to go ahead and reserve something.
