paris apartment

hi, does anyone know of a cheap apartment close to the centre of paris. I am going in august, just for three nights and there are three of us. we are desperate not to go to a hostel or hotel as we will have been travelling around europe for a while and would like to %26#39;live%26#39; in paris like the locals (albeit for just a few nights). thanks

Can you give us an idea of what maximum you can afford. Remember, this is Paris...

|||

Unfortunately we cant afford much, we would like to get something for 75 to 80 euros. Any ideas?

|||

have you checked www.vrbo.com? There are many postings for apartments rented by the individual owners, and for all over the world, not just france. Good Luck.

|||

I second that. We have used VRBO many times. It%26#39;s the best we%26#39;ve found so far. 85EUR/night is about 600/week. That%26#39;s very doable. You may not stay on rus Saint-Honore but it%26#39;s doable.

Hi - I%26#39;ve booked an apartment at

Listing#: 31643

Description: Paris Arrondissement 1, Paris, Ile-De-France (Paris Area),

France, Europe - E540/wk ! Paris Louvre Studio (2/4 People)

Internet/Computer

Web Address: http://www.vrbo.com/31643

It%26#39;s very, very small, (25m2) but the location is incredible.

The owner answered myrequests promptly, and provided me with two maps, a tourist map and another with local services.

If you get it, please post a report.

That%26#39;s one of the nicest neighborhoods in Paris. Until this year, we lived literally 50 yards from there at 22 Place du Marche Saint Honore. We loved that place and, even though we are delighted with our new one, it was an exceptional neighborhood and we miss it.

There are 2 little bistros there (it%26#39;s a short little rue), %26quot;Le Rubis%26quot; which has a great wine selection and a good, traditional boeuf bourguignon. The other is %26quot;Au Bistro%26quot;, which , among other wonderful specialities of the southwest, serves escargot in a baked potato filled with butter and garlic.... I can%26#39;t even begin to tell you how good it is. On the other side of the famous architect Bofil%26#39;s %26quot;glass market%26quot; is %26quot;Bennett%26quot;, another fine restaurant and good value. Great lunches and a good brunch on Sat/Sun.

Wednesdays and Saturdays there%26#39;s a really nice public market on the Place du Marche Saint-Honore, literally steps from your apartment. The charcuiterie (meats) at the north end of the market is superb.

Hey... you DID find an apartment on rue Saint-Honore !!!! (Well just off it by a block maybe...)

Hi Metromole - yes, I%26#39;ll be a neighbour for 8 nights - so looking forward to it. However, we%26#39;re cramming 5 people into this tiny apartment - don%26#39;t know how we%26#39;ll all fit, but we%26#39;re up to the challenge. 25 m2 is pretty small. However, you%26#39;ve made me get all %26quot;Paris-sick%26quot;, wanting to be back there real quick - so looking forward to the markets and just wandering around %26quot;my neighbourhood%26quot;.

Tripee -I checked the site and unforunately there%26#39;s no vacancies for 3 nights in August - good luck with finding something near by.
