Nice - how expensive is it?

I%26#39;m visiting Nice for the first time for a week this September.

I hear that it%26#39;s an expensive place. Just how expensive is expensive?

I live in Dublin which is one of the most expensive cities in Europe for socialising. Is it going to cost me 80euro for a meal for two with wine? Is it going to cost me 5euro for a pint? 20euro for a bottle of wine?

Could anyone recommend some INexpensive places to eat, drink, visit??

Hotels CAN BE expensive and some restaurants too. But you have lots of choices and you can get reasonable prices (50 euros and less for 2 in some restaurants) A bottle of wine CAN BE 20 euros but depending where you go you will be able to pay less than that. Have a look at www.allaboutnice.com for restautants suggestions, she is very good at that! There is also a site for restaurants in France and it includes Nice, I don%26#39;t have the URL here at the office but I%26#39;ll try to post it later on this week.

Places to visit are not expensive at all, they have average prices (museums for instance).

And remeber September is cheaper. I will be there for 2 weeks in September and prices don%26#39;t compare with Summer prices I can assure you.

I%26#39;m a regular visitor, and I honestly don%26#39;t find it expensive compared with UK.

Beer%26#39;s not too expensive, and while you can easily spend 20euro on a bottle of wine, those local wines are really superb (try Bellet).

Because there are so many restaurants, as long as you avoid obvious tourist traps, you can get excellent value. Explore, follow your instincts, and you won%26#39;t go far wrong.

Thank you both so much; I%26#39;m looking forward to my trip again!

I live in London and Villefranche, just outside Nice, and I would say that restaurant prices in Nice are about half those of London for similar quality.
