EuroDisney

My husband %26amp; I are planning on taking our 12yr old son to EuroDisney during 5 - 12 Jan 2006. Could someone please advise me on the weather and the crowds at the theme park during this time. Also: Can you suggest reasonably priced accommodation?

Weather : really cold, in January expect between 0 and 5 degrees Celsius. Need some good winter clothes there.

Crowds in the park : there is no rules in fact i%26#39;ve seen thepark totally empty in a sunny warm august sunday, and awfully filled to the neck on a rainy cold november tuesday!

Reasonable accomodation : try the hotels in Marnes la vallee, a small city near the park. You%26#39;ll find more hotel info at

I%26#39;m pretty sure no one calls it %26#39;EuroDisney%26#39;... It is Disneyland Paris....

Thnak you Denys - your info was most helpful. (Apologies to travelnutty and anyone else i may have offended with my outdated use of EuroDisney!!)

You will be coming from mid-summer in SA to mid-winter in Paris, which could be a serious shock to the system! I%26#39;ve been in Paris a few times in early January and it can be really raw and damp. I%26#39;m pretty accustomed to cold temperatures in winter - it is often -15C or colder here in January - but the cold in Paris can really chill to the bone. The occasional mild sunny day is a real treat however.

This site will give you a general idea of the normal and extreme high and low temps and the average number of days with rain (or snow!) in January: www.weatherbase.com

As for crowds, I%26#39;m pretty sure there are fewer tourists in the first half of January anywhere in Europe except perhaps on the ski-slopes than any other time of year. This makes it a great time to visit museums and other indoor places. If you are flexible with your plans, and are lucky enough to get a relatively mild and sunny day, Disneyland could be a fun winter excursion too...

Have a great trip!

For moderate priced accomodation, have a look at Hotel Paris Bercy in the 12th, it is just 2 metro stations from RER A going direclty to Disneyland Paris...The Hotel is clean and the area os safe. Staff is smiling and helpful.

Have a nice stay in Paris!
