children friendly bistros/restaurants

Hi all.

I am travelling to Paris in a week with husband and 3 children (ages 7, 9 and 9). Being budget conscious to a point and also being spoilt with the wonderful food we have in Australia at home, does any one have suggestions for child friendly place to eat dinner in Paris that serve great wholesome food. We are staying in the 16th at Residence Foch and would greatly appreciate any help.

Thanks.

try doing a search... as there has been lots on this subject.

Many of your local cafes will have good, affordable family offerings and your best bet (kids%26#39; energy levels, Parisian dining hours and budgetwise) will be eating out for lunch while self catering for dinner.

For eating decent (ie. %26quot;edible%26quot;) but inexpensive food, you can take the family to a French %26#39;cafeteria%26#39; called FLUNCH - it is located on the outside of the %26#39;les Halles%26#39; shopping area. They have a %26#39;salad bar%26#39; kind of setup, then you can get hot courses at the grill counter, including fries... there%26#39;s a soda fountain w/ice ... figure 7-9Euro per person (all this based on the last time I was there, several years ago).

Somewhat more expensive (but still reasonable) is a French chain called %26quot;Chez Clement%26quot;, more like a traditional French cafe.

Otherwise, most any cafe/brasserie will have choices like roasted chicken/fries, salads, soups, sandwiches etc.

Also, there is a food court that looks over the big hall of the Louvre - it%26#39;s in the Carrousel shopping area.

You can always read the menus before going in - they must be posted outside by law.
