Visit to Versailles - travel costs & use of museum pass

I would like to visit Versailles for one day during my stay in Paris.

How much is the transport from the centre of Paris to Versailles?

I plan to buy museum card for 5 days, free entrance to Versailles should be icluded in this card. Can someone tell me exactly what is covered when I go to Versailles with museum card, can I go everywhere, chateaux, park, exhibitions?

Is it better to buy one day Versailles pass (issued by Transilien) or go to Versailles with museum card and buy one day travel pass or individual tickets?

Thank you for your help.

The only part of your question I can answer is that it should cost about 5-6 Euro for one round-trip on the RER.

I believe the Carte Musee will cover the main chateau, the Grand %26amp; Petit Trianons, and the garden. If I%26#39;m wrong, the garden might cost 3 Euro more, estim.

I%26#39;ve never bought the combination ticket.

p.s. last time we went, you could ride a tram to get to the back of the property, where l%26#39;Hameau and the Trianons are located. You went out the back side of the chateau, walked to the gardens on your right (w/back to the chateau and looking out at the canal).

The roundtrip RER fare from any of the RER C-5 ligne stops aonng the Left Bank (Gare d%26#39;Austerlitz, Saint Michel-Notre Dame, Musee d%26#39;Orsay. Assemblee National, Invalides, Champ de Mars-Tour Eiffel) in central Paris out to the end-of-the-line at VERSAILLES-Rive Gauche is 5,20 Euro. Bear in mind that Chateau de Versaille is closed on Mondays. The only places that are not include with the Carte Musee et Monuments pass will be the State Apartments (7,50 Euro) and Grand Eauz shows (4.50 Euro)--chateau, gardens, Trianons, etc are included. Depending on the length of your stay in Paris and when you plan to visit Versailles, if it falls within the term of your Carte Musee, then there would be no real advantage to a separate pass.
