Arrival at CDG in Paris and take the TGV train right at CDG for Bordeaux (3 hrs approx). Nice is too far away from Bordeaux.

You can do Paris Bordeaux by the high speed TGV train in about three hours from as little as 50 euro return depending on how far in advance you book (for June you probably won%26#39;t be able to get anything LESS than 90 euro.)

Use www.sncf.com to check times prices etc. - Englsih language version of the site available.

The same site tells me that Nice Bordeaux is going to take you over nine hours !

Basically it%26#39;s only about 250 miles in a high speed train from Paris, almost 400 miles from Nice on %26#39;normal%26#39; intercity trains.

Forget about Nice Bordeaux even with TGV. The problem leaving from Nice is that the Nice-Marseilles portion of the trip is run at slower speed (3 hrs). Then from Marseilles you have access to high speed (3.5 hrs to Paris for instance) If you want to do Nice-Bordeaux, drive. At 140-150 km per hour on highways, you can do it in the same day and probably faster than the train. Unless you have long vacations you will have to choose between Bordeaux and Nice.

I landed at CDG and took a TGV to Bordeaux (fast

and pleasant ride). Car rental companies right at

the train station.

Agree with Randy Silver. That%26#39;s what we did and we drove towards Nice afterwards, stopping in Cap d%26#39;Agde on our way. Real nice beach and town.

I belive i will be doing this going from paris to Bordeaux and i woudent mind driving to the south. Which place would you recommend to stay over during our drive. st.tropaz for exampl ..is it worth it.

I don%26#39;t want to be cruel but you really need to get yourself a map of France, have a look at

map-of-france.co.uk/…

you see where Bordeaux is ? On the West coast South East from the word %26#39;Ocean%26#39; ? Now lok over to the bottom right %26#39;corner%26#39; of the country, next to Italy. Nice is marked and St Tropez is a short drive from there. Quite a detour from your Paris Bordeaux route eh ?

Driving from Paris to Bordeaux you%26#39;d be passing through the Loire Valley with its beautiful Chateaux. THis link sgives the major roads

map-of-france.co.uk/road-map-of-france.htm

but really for planning you need a map of your own.

Near Bordeaux is Archachon - certainly worth a visit. Look at the relative forms on this site for other cities/regions.

Apologies for the many typos - in case I was unclear in that last line I meant %26quot;relevant forums%26quot; Loire Valley, Bordeaux etc.
